Kaitlyn's Top 10 things to Experience as a Girl

I thought that it would be fun for me to list all of the things that I would like to do or experience as Kaitlyn as well as post my progress on any of them. If anyone has any suggestions or comments please feel free to drop me an email and let me know.

1. Spend 48 hours or more en femme Completed!!! I find that the longer I spend time as Kaitlyn, the more enjoyable it is to me. I would love to wake up in the morning as Kaitlyn. To spend the entire day doing fun girly things as Kaitlyn. Go to sleep as Kaitlyn and do it all again the next day. Total immersion in all things feminine. I want to experience the challenges women face every day. I want to walk and talk and interact with the world as Kaitlyn for an extended period of time. 12/2009 Update: I am happy to say that I completed this. I was lucky enough to attend Beauty at the Beach this year. I got to be Kaitlyn for 3 days straight!

2. Attend a TG Event Completed!!! This one has been on my to do list for quite some time. It really boils down to scheduling. I would really like to attend an event where I can enjoy being a girl. I prefer to attend and event that is more about girl time then it is about advancing the cause of TG people. Cindy Lauper said it best "Girls just want to have fun" 12/2009 Update: This May I attended Beauty at the Beach. It was exactly the kind of event that I was hoping to attend. We partied in the hotel and we went out on the town! I'll post photos to this site soon, but in the meantime you can see some photos of me and my girl friends at the event on my MySpace page here. 4. Go for a professional makeover and photo session Completed!!! I am always blown away by the dazzling beauty a professional makeup artist can create out of girls like me. I actually used to live fairly close to where the wonderful Jamie Austin performs his magic, but I never got up the nerve to take advantage of the. I really do want to go in and get the full glamour girl, top model treatment. 12/2009 Update: I am lucky enough to live very close to the amazing Amanda Richards and her True Colors Makeup Artistry studio! I have had countless makeovers and several photo sessions with her. You can see some of them here, here, here and here! Not only is Amanda extreamly talented artist, I consider her one of the nicest girls I know, and a great girl friend. As I type this I am scheduled for 2 more makeovers with Amanda in the next 30 days. I highly recomend her!

6. Venture out to some clubs in my new location Completed!!! As luck would have it, I was just starting to get out to some clubs in the Albany area before I moved to PA. Well I am finding it hard to strike up a good friendship with another local girl to hit the clubs with. I must admit that I have not had the time available to me that I did in the past, and I am sure that plays a big part in it. None the less, Kaitlyn is anxious to get out and party in her new surroundings. 12/2009 Update: I am very happy to say that I now get out to the local clubs quite often. You can find me hanging out with my friends at Diamonz or Rainbow Mountain about once a month. I've also been to Philly to party at 12 Air Command, and CT for the Friends of Triangles Party. I'll soon be adding NYC to my list as I will be going in to see a show!

7. Make some local T-girl-friends Completed!!! This kinda of ties in with number 6 and number 8. One of the reasons I was able to get out and enjoy the clubs as Kaitlyn was that I had a strong support group of other T-girls who I trusted. I really do want to develop those types of friend ships again. 12/2009 Update: Wow! I couldn't have completed many of these "To Do" items if it was not for the good friends I have made here. Amanda, Brittany and Staycee you girls are the best!

9. Find a pair of jeans that look good on me Completed!!! Summer time for me is a mixed blessing. While I love the warm weather and things to do in the summer, It is also a time that I do not shave. I shaved all winter long this year and even shaved my arms once this year (which I loved). I really don't like hitting the clubs when I am not smooth, but If I could find a cute and sexy pair of jeans that looked great on me, well then I might have to find a place to wear them. 12/2009 Update: I now have a few pairs of jeans that I like to wear out. I am finding they are not just for summer. They are great for going out when I just want to blend in, and they are warm in the winter. My favorites are Victoria's Secret with uplift.
